Delta Tournament

Congratulations to Peter Stern for taking first place at the Delta this last weekend. Peter and his guest (Jim Leist) proved blast order is not a factor. He and his partner blasted off next to last, and finished first with a total of 5 bass and 15.16 pounds. Their team total beat tony Heimberg and his guest by 2.94 lbs. John Bowles and Dugan (who I’m told was upright for the entire day), rounded out the top three finishers with 5 fish and 11.8 lbs.

Rich and Luke had an exciting time as they (okay, Rich) high centered his boat while running down the Delta at about 30 mph. Luckily it was a sand bar, and nothing worse. Although it was a bit embarrassing trying to push off the sand / mud with a 2 foot paddle. Just one of life’s lessons.

The wind was definately a factor and kept a few boats from traveling too far, and out of the main bodies.

Next up will be the Pardee Tournament on 5/19/12.

Lake Oroville Results

So after everyone thought it was going to be a terrible weather day, it actually turned out to be a good day. A little bad weather, but then gave way to a sunny and clear afternoon.

Unfortunately, the change in weather made it a little more difficult on the fishing side of things with only 2 teams being able to bag a limit.

Joe and Rich took first place with a bag of 5 fish for 9.6 LBS
Peter and D bag of 5 fish for 9.02 Lbs
John Bowles and guest Rob Ridge had third place with 4 fish and 7.04 lbs.

Overall a good start for the 2012 Season.

2012 El Dorado Bass Club Season

Congratulations to Dave Machol for winning Angler of the Year for 2011. Impressive considering he spent the entire season in the back of the boat!!

We look forward to kicking off the 2012 Season at ake Oroville on Jan 21st. Good Luck to All.

New Melones Tournament Results

It was another tough day of fishing as four teams didn’t have any fish to weigh. There were two other clubs fishing the same day, but that shouldn’t have had too much of an impact. Richard Taylor caught a monster for big fishing, weighing in at a mighty 1.76 lbs. Rich Hurley and Dave Machol were the only team to weigh in a limit to take first place with 5.30 Lbs.

Hopefully the fishing at Berryessa on April 2 will provide better results.

Michael is the Fishing Division Leader for Bayside Adventure Sports with a lifetime of experience and a true passion for helping anglers improve their skills. He will be going in-depth on essentials that beginning or intermediate anglers must know to catch more and bigger bass.
